Projecting artificial images onto the landscape, I highlight both ethical and practical points of touch within the boundary of technology and environment. My work titled Light Intervention, questions romantic feelings of the sublime by bringing forth visual tension, even suggesting there is a new sublime in the present day. The new sublime arises from the power of unrestricted technology and its relationship to the environment. While feelings of the sublime were once generated through the terror of natural elements, in the present day, technology has surpassed the natural elements to become a new primary source of fear and power. By contrasting projected images from technological sources with the landscape, I lead the viewer to question where they stand within the opposing relationship, and subsequent boundary of the two, and advocate for making positive ethical decisions when living in that often-ambiguous frame created by society. At the intersection between technology and the environment people at all levels hold a responsibility towards preserving the environment in the interest of sustainable coexistence.
